Gia Lai border guards rescue 12 fishermen after vessel sinks

On the morning of August 21, 12 fishermen were rescued after their vessel, GL-99322-TS, began taking on water and sinking off the coast of Gia Lai. The incident occurred around 5:10 AM approximately 5 nautical miles northeast of De Gi estuary.

Upon receiving an emergency report from Captain Cao Thanh Phuc, the Cat Khanh Border Guard Station coordinated an immediate rescue operation. Local fishing vessels GL-30036-TS and BD-93724-TS, which were operating nearby, were dispatched to the scene. All 12 crew members were successfully transferred to vessel GL-30036-TS and are reported to be in stable health.

The sinking vessel, owned by Huynh Van Tuyet, is a 22.6-meter long ship with a capacity of 910 CV used for purse seine fishing. It had departed from the Tam Quan Border Guard Control Station at 9:35 PM on August 20.
