Gia Lai Chairman visits martyr remains recovery efforts

Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, visited and encouraged forces engaged in the search and recovery of martyr remains at Xuan Son Hill in Kim Son Commune.

During the visit, the Chairman offered incense at the memorial shrine to honor those who died in battles occurring 60 years ago. While 60 sets of remains were recovered in 2022 and interred at the Tang Bat Ho Martyrs' Cemetery, authorities believe some remains from the December 26, 1966, battle have yet to be found.

As part of a “500-day campaign to promote the search, recovery, and identification of martyr remains,” the province has directed continued surveys and verification efforts. The current operation is being led by the Military Command of Gia Lai Province, involving various political and military units working to locate the remaining remains through historical documentation and witness accounts.
