Gia Lai driver avoids collision with runaway truck on narrow slope

A dashcam video has gained significant attention online showing a driver successfully avoiding a collision with a runaway truck on a narrow mountain road in Gia Lai.

The incident occurred on September 17 at approximately 4:42 PM near Ghềnh Ráng. As an automobile was driving up a steep, winding slope, a white truck traveling in the opposite direction lost control. The truck collided with the side walls of the narrow path in an attempt to reduce speed through friction.

Recognizing the imminent danger of a head-on collision, the car driver quickly shifted into reverse, maneuvering the vehicle backward at speeds reaching 16 km/h to reach the main road (National Highway 1D). Both vehicles managed to avoid a direct impact and no injuries were reported.
