Gia Lai military and police forces support border school construction

Military and police forces in Gia Lai province have contributed over 77,000 man-days to accelerate the construction of seven multi-level boarding schools in border communes. The project, with a total investment exceeding 1,500 billion VND, is designed to serve 7,108 students, including 3,670 boarding and 3,438 semi-boarding students.

The construction faced significant challenges, including remote locations, difficult weather, and local labor shortages. To meet the deadline for the 2026-2027 school year, various units including the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command, Border Guard, Corps 34, Military Region 5, and the Provincial Police mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers to assist contractors with material transport, masonry, and finishing works.

A 90-day intensive campaign successfully completed 94 out of 94 main construction items, ensuring the schools could open for the new academic year. In recognition of these efforts, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee honored eight collectives and 30 individuals for their contributions to the project.
