Gia Lai moves to upgrade communes as Chư Sê meets 183% budget target

The People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province has outlined a plan to convert 16 rural communes into urban wards between 2026 and 2030. Five communes – Phù Mỹ, Tây Sơn, Tuy Phước, Chư Sê and An Nhơn Tây – are slated for upgrade in 2026, with further rounds scheduled for 2028 and 2030. The province emphasizes meeting development criteria, improving infrastructure, and enhancing local governance.

In the same year, the Chư Sê commune reported strong fiscal performance, collecting 127.265 million VND in state revenue, equivalent to 183 % of the provincial target, and spending 156.059 million VND. Agricultural output met planning goals, land‑use cases were largely resolved, and public service indicators such as waste‑treatment and clean‑water usage reached near‑full compliance. Local officials highlighted the need to maintain momentum as the commune prepares for its ward status.
