Gia Lai police arrest man for illegal use of 1.4 billion VND

Police in Gia Lai Province have arrested Tran Vinh Nguyen, born in 1984, for the illegal use of assets. Investigations revealed that in April 2024, a victim, Mr. P.T.H, requested a bank loan of 1.4 billion VND to be disbursed into Nguyen's account. After receiving the funds, Nguyen used the money without permission to invest in cryptocurrency, pay debts, and cover personal expenses.

The Gia Lai Provincial Police Criminal Investigation Agency officially prosecuted the case and detained Nguyen under Article 177 of the Penal Code to ensure legal enforcement and warn against the unauthorized use of others' property.
