Gia Lai school inspections reveal exam security breaches and facility shortages

An inspection of 45 public preschools, primary schools, and secondary schools in Gia Lai province has revealed significant deficiencies in educational management and infrastructure. The Gia Lai Provincial Inspectorate identified issues regarding teaching staff, facilities, and student assessment processes.

A critical finding involves the lack of security in periodic testing. Some schools were found to be photocopying exam papers at external locations, failing to meet confidentiality requirements. In certain instances, exam content was shared via messaging apps like Zalo, compromising the integrity of the assessment process.

Beyond security concerns, the inspection highlighted systemic issues including teacher shortages, staff not meeting required qualification standards, and teachers being assigned to subjects outside their expertise. Many schools also lack essential facilities, such as music and art rooms, experiential learning areas, and functional computer equipment for IT classes. These shortcomings have hindered the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program and the ability to provide two-session-per-day teaching schedules.
