Gia Lai seeks to expand agricultural exports to China

Gia Lai province is seeking to expand its agricultural export capacity, specifically targeting the Chinese market. A delegation including representatives from the Vietnam Association of Farms and Agricultural Enterprises, Ta Lung Quang Minh JSC, and Chinese businesses recently surveyed the region to explore investment and processing opportunities.

Gia Lai possesses significant agricultural resources, including large-scale production of coffee, durian, passion fruit, cashew nuts, pepper, and bananas. While the province has established production chains for key commodities like coffee, challenges remain regarding small-scale production, low certification rates, and a reliance on exporting raw goods rather than processed products.

Efforts are underway to standardize production processes and establish growing area codes and packaging facility codes to improve quality and market access through gateways such as the Le Thanh International Border Gate.
