Gia Lai tax authority orders bank account freezes for overdue taxpayers
The tax administration of Gia Lai Province, covering 11 districts, issued enforcement decisions on 30 June 2025 under Law No. 108/2025/QH15. The orders require the State Treasury and banking institutions to freeze the accounts of taxpayers whose tax liabilities have remained unpaid for more than 90 days. The measure targets the amounts owed and is intended to curb chronic tax arrears, ensure proper tax management, and recover state revenue. Affected taxpayers are instructed to comply strictly with the decisions.
The actions affect banks and credit institutions where the listed taxpayers hold accounts, limiting the frozen funds to the portion subject to enforcement. The tax authority emphasizes that the account freezes are a coercive tool to address prolonged non‑payment and protect the national budget.
