Gia Lai to manage over 1,000 surplus public land and housing sites

Gia Lai province has developed a plan to manage and utilize 1,056 surplus public land and housing facilities following administrative restructuring. Out of a total of 1,613 surplus sites identified, 557 have already been repurposed for offices, public services, cultural institutions, or sports facilities.

The remaining 1,056 sites will be handled through various methods including land auctions, leasing, liquidation, or transfer to local management. Specifically, 644 sites with small areas located within residential zones or zoned for residential use will be allocated for residential land use via auctions to increase state budget revenue.

Other measures include leasing land for commercial and service purposes, short-term leasing for under five years, and liquidating assets on the land. The province aims to use the generated revenue to reinvest in essential public infrastructure and facilities for citizens.
