Giacomo Raspadori leaves Italy camp with thigh injury
Atalanta striker Giacomo Raspadori has left the Italian national team camp following a muscle injury sustained during a match against Turkey. Medical examinations revealed a low-grade strain of the right biceps femoris muscle.
Raspadori is expected to be sidelined for approximately two to three weeks, depending on his response to rehabilitation. He will miss Italy’s upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against France and Turkey. Atalanta has begun his recovery process, with a potential return to action around October 18 for a match against Milan.
In preparation for the match against France at the Stade de France, Italy manager Roberto Mancini has opted not to call up a replacement, reducing the squad to 32 players. This follows a previous injury withdrawal by Nicolò Zaniolo. Meanwhile, French manager Zinedine Zidane expressed readiness for the encounter, noting the high level of competition presented by the Italian side.
