Gialova Bypass: New traffic regulations approved for 9th National Road construction

The Special Public Works Service of the Peloponnese, Western Greece, and Ionian Islands has approved modifications to the traffic regulation study for the Gialova Bypass project on the 9th National Road. The changes specifically target Phase A1 of subsection A1, covering the stretch from kilometer 0+000 to 3+680.

To ensure uninterrupted and safe traffic flow during the construction of the Γ1 technical structure (bridge), the project will utilize single-direction construction roads. Traffic from Pylos will be directed via construction road Er. O. 1-1, while traffic heading toward Pylos will use Er. O. 1-3. These roads will pass over previously completed sections of the technical structure.

Construction road Er. O. 1-1 will be implemented in two stages. Initially, it will have a width of 6.00 meters, narrowing to 4.50 meters over the recently constructed section of the technical structure. Once the Γ1 structure is complete, the remaining 1.50-meter width will be added to the left side. The project, managed by the contractor INTRAKAT (AKTOR Group), includes various safety measures, such as specific signage and high-reflectivity markings, to prevent unauthorized vehicle entry into the construction site.
