Giampaolo Mungo proposes free sports for children in Catanzaro

Giampaolo Mungo, former sports assessor for the Municipality of Catanzaro, has proposed making sports activities free for children aged 6 to 13. The initiative, presented during a meeting of the National Conference of Presidents of Municipal Councils at the CONI headquarters in Rome, aims to ensure equal access to physical activity regardless of a family's income or location.

The proposal advocates for a national system to reduce fragmentation in current voucher and contribution models. Key components include the establishment of a National Sports Service, the introduction of a National Sports Card, and a Charter of Essential Sports Services. Mungo emphasized that sport is an essential tool for individual growth and development during formative years.
