Gianfranco Travaglini appointed rector of San Pio X Seminary

Don Gianfranco Travaglini has been appointed as the new rector of the Pontifical Regional Abruzzese-Molisano ‘San Pio X’ Seminary in Chieti. He succeeds Don Luigi Primiano, marking the start of a new academic year for the institution responsible for training future priests for the dioceses of Abruzzo and Molise.

An ordained priest since 1994, Travaglini brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served as the vice-rector of the same seminary. His pastoral background includes serving as the parish priest of the Concattedrale di San Giuseppe in Vasto for 13 years, as well as roles in Lettopalena, Lama dei Peligni, Taranta Peligna, and Casoli. He has also collaborated with the diocesan Caritas.

A new leadership team for the seminary has been established, including Don Alessio De Fabritiis for the Propedeutic stage, Don Stefano De Rubbio for the configurative stage, and Don Nicola Del Bianco as the bursar.
