Gianlorenzo Blendi appointed Numia Vero Volley Milano head coach

Gianlorenzo Blendi will take on a dual role as he has been appointed the head coach of the Italian women's volleyball club Numia Vero Volley Milano for the 2026/2027 season. He succeeds Stefano Lavarini, who is expected to move to Fenerbahçe.

Blendi will continue his tenure as the head coach of the Bulgarian men's national volleyball team, having recently extended his contract with the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation until 2028. This arrangement was a specific condition of his contract extension, allowing him to manage a club team alongside his national duties. His long-term goal with the Bulgarian team remains qualifying for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

In his new role in Milan, Blendi will be supported by assistants Massimo Caponeri and Nicola Daldelo, with Paolo Perone serving as a scout. This marks a new chapter in his career, as it is his first time coaching a women's team. He is expected to join the Milan club following the conclusion of the EuroVolley 2026 tournament.
