Universitario de Deportes resolved the contract of Peru forward Gianluca Lapadula with Italy's Spezia and announced his arrival in Lima next week to join the squad for the 2026 Torneo Clausura. The club expects Lapadula to bolster the attack as they chase a historic fourth league title.

Midfielder Jordan Guivin, 28, also returned to the club after a productive spell with ADT, where he played 16 matches and scored five goals in the Apertura. Coach Héctor Cúper plans to use Guivin’s technical ability and offensive drive to strengthen the midfield ahead of the second half of the season.

Both signings are part of Universitario’s broader effort to improve the roster and compete for the championship in the upcoming Clausura tournament.
