Gianni Alemanno endorses Carmelo Burgio for Milan mayor

Gianni Alemanno, the former mayor of Rome, has announced his support for General Carmelo Burgio as a candidate for the 2027 Milan mayoral elections. Burgio is being promoted by Roberto Vannacci under the Futuro Nazionale movement.

Alemanno identified urban security as the primary issue for the upcoming campaign, describing Milan as being in a state of deep crisis and characterizing the city as a “mecca of all possible ethnic clans.” He argued that the current center-right leadership has failed to present a credible alternative candidate.

Burgio has addressed the security concerns by citing Ministry of Interior statistics and media reports, suggesting that official crime data may not fully capture the extent of the situation due to unreported incidents.
