Gianni Amelio presents migration-themed film Nessun dolore at Venice

Director Gianni Amelio presented his new film, “Nessun dolore”, at the Venice Film Festival. The film, which is scheduled for theatrical release on September 24, stars Alessandro Borghi and Valeria Golino.

The story follows Davide, a used book seller in Rome, whose life is transformed after he is entrusted with a child from North Africa. Following an accident involving the child, the protagonist attempts to find redemption by helping those he encounters.

During the presentation, Amelio addressed the theme of migration, noting that it has become a primary challenge for European nations. He emphasized the human aspect of the issue, stating that while governments must find solutions, his goal as a filmmaker is to tell stories that connect with the heart.
