Gianni Infantino receives CAF's unanimous support for governance reforms

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) executive committee issued a statement reaffirming its full support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The committee endorsed the joint update presented by Infantino and FIFA Secretary General Matthias Graffster on the FIFA Forward Enterprise project, acknowledged mistakes in its management, and pledged to uphold the highest standards of governance and transparency. CAF said it will carry out a comprehensive internal review and present the findings to the FIFA Council at its next meeting.

CAF also thanked Infantino for the successful organization of the 2026 World Cup and praised the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The statement highlighted progress in negotiations with sponsors and partners and noted preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations 2027, scheduled to be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
