Giannis Antetokounmpo adjusts to new role with Miami Heat

Giannis Antetokounmpo is adjusting to his new role with the Miami Heat following his move from the Milwaukee Bucks. In his preseason debut against the Pelicans, Antetokounmpo recorded 18 points, four rebounds, and four assists in 18 minutes of play.

Despite the strong individual start, Antetokounmpo noted that he requires more time to feel fully comfortable within the Heat's system after spending 13 seasons in Milwaukee. He emphasized his intention to maintain his aggressive playing style while building chemistry with new teammates, including Klay Thompson, Tim Hardaway Jr., Bobby Portis, and Nick Richards.

Analyst Zach Lowe projected that the Heat will likely win between 46 and 50 games this season. While praising Antetokounmpo’s preseason performance, Lowe expressed concerns regarding the team's perimeter offense, specifically the ability to create jump shots off the dribble. Although the roster features established shooters like Thompson and Hardaway Jr., the team's ability to manufacture offensive opportunities around Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo remains a key question for head coach Erik Spoelstra.
