Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo join Miami Heat

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo have officially joined forces as teammates on the Miami Heat. During the team’s 2026 Media Day, both players expressed a desire to use their intense on-court rivalry to improve their individual skills through daily competition during practice.

Antetokounmpo noted that guarding Adebayo every day will prepare him for the defensive challenges of the league, while Adebayo emphasized that pushing one another is the standard for great players. The duo's arrival follows a significant trade involving the Milwaukee Bucks, which sent Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis to Miami in exchange for Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, and various draft assets.

Head coach Erik Spoelstra will now lead a roster featuring both All-Stars, supported by players such as Andrew Wiggins and Portis. The Heat are scheduled to begin their season on October 20.
