Giannis Antetokounmpo shines in Miami Heat preseason debut

Giannis Antetokounmpo has made a strong preseason debut for the Miami Heat, expressing enthusiasm for the organization’s intense culture. Following a trade from the Milwaukee Bucks that involved a package led by Tyler Herro, the two-time MVP participated in a preseason game against the Toronto Raptors.

In 14 minutes of play, Antetokounmpo recorded nine points, four rebounds, and seven assists. Notably, all seven of his assists resulted in successful three-point shots for teammates including Andrew Wiggins, Bam Adebayo, Davion Mitchell, and Tim Hardaway Jr.

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra praised Antetokounmpo’s court vision and passing ability, comparing his playmaking style to a legendary point guard coached by Pat Riley in the 1980s, widely understood to be Magic Johnson. Antetokounmpo noted that the team's rigorous environment, which included sessions with Navy SEALs, has made him feel a sense of professional rebirth.
