Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Rumors Ignite Celtics and Mavericks Interest

NBA trade speculation has centered on Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo after the Bucks' season concluded. Insider Marc Stein reported that the Boston Celtics are viewed as a leading potential destination, noting, “I've heard something similar from a few different teams … Miami and Boston are increasingly perceived to be the potential trade destinations.” The Celtics are said to consider a deal that could involve sending Jaylen Brown, though team officials appear hesitant, citing confidence in their existing roster.

Separate speculation highlights the Dallas Mavericks, whose president Masai Ujiri has a longstanding relationship with Antetokounmpo. Stein wrote, “Now I wouldn't expect the Mavericks to come up much as a potential Giannis destination this summer,” but also noted the Mavericks' interest because of Luka Doncic and the cultural ties between Ujiri and the Greek‑born star. Both reports suggest Antetokounmpo’s next move will be closely watched across the league as his contract nears its end.
