Giannis Antetokounmpo traded from Milwaukee Bucks to Miami Heat

The Milwaukee Bucks have traded Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat, ending his 13-year tenure in Milwaukee. In the blockbuster deal, Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis move to Miami. In exchange, the Bucks receive Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware, Kasparas Jakucionis, the No. 13 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, a 2030 first-round pick swap, and first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, along with a 2033 second-round pick.

The trade shifts the Eastern Conference landscape, significantly increasing Miami’s championship odds. Meanwhile, Milwaukee enters a rebuilding phase. Amidst this reset, the Bucks have found early optimism in rookie guard Brayden Burries. Selected 10th overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, Burries was named the best value pick by ESPN NBA insiders following a strong Summer League performance where he averaged 22.3 points per game.
