Giannis Koulouris, New Democracy official, dies in Patras

Giannis Koulouris, a prominent official of the New Democracy party in the Achaia region, has passed away. He died on the night of Thursday, September 3, shortly after being admitted to the hospital following a period of ill health.

Koulouris had a long-standing involvement with the party, serving in various organizational capacities. His career included roles such as President of ONNED in Agios Dionysios, a candidate for the presidency of the New Democracy Center City of Patras in 2018, and Section Head within the Organizational Secretariat of DEEP New Democracy Achaia in 2022. Most recently, in July 2026, he was appointed as the Head of the Former Officials Sector.

Beyond his political activities, Koulouris was active in the professional community of Patras, having served as the General Secretary of the Association of Maritime Agents of the Port of Patras.
