Giannis Vogiatzis discusses longevity and life at 105

Greek actor Giannis Vogiatzis, born in 1926, shared insights into his longevity during an appearance on the program ‘Protagonistes’ with Stavros Theodorakis. Now 105 years old, the actor attributed his long life to several factors, including a love for reading, avoiding laziness, and practicing moderation.

Vogiatzis emphasized that he avoided substance abuse, noting that while he occasionally enjoyed a good glass of wine, he always practiced moderation. He credited much of his lifestyle to the principles taught by his mother, whom he described as very wise. He recalled how, during the war, his mother would pretend not to be hungry to ensure her two sons had enough to eat.

With a career spanning 67 years across theater, cinema, and television, Vogiatzis has worked with three generations of colleagues. He made his debut in 1955 and most recently appeared in the series ‘Smirni mou Agapimeni’ in 2022.
