Giannoulis Larentzakis apologizes to AEK fans

Basketball player Giannoulis Larentzakis has issued a public apology to AEK fans following a controversial gesture made during a previous match. Speaking after a friendly game against Panathinaikos in Rhodes, Larentzakis addressed the backlash regarding an incident that occurred on May 15, 2025, during a game against Olympiacos.

During that match, Larentzakis responded to insults from the stands by gesturing toward the Olympiacos emblem. He described the act as a “moment of error” driven by passion and instinct, stating, “I made a wrong gesture... I hope they can forgive me so we can move forward.”

Larentzakis, who recently returned to AEK after a seven-year absence, emphasized his commitment to the club and the importance of team unity for the upcoming season. He noted that despite the recent friendly loss to a strong Panathinaikos side, he remains highly motivated to achieve the team's high goals.
