Gibson releases limited edition Gustavo Cerati tribute guitar

Gibson Custom has announced the release of a limited edition guitar honoring the late Argentine musician Gustavo Cerati. The instrument, the Gibson Custom Gustavo Cerati 1965 ES-335, is a recreation of the specific guitar Cerati used during pivotal moments of his career, including performances with Soda Stereo and his solo work.

Only 60 units of this model will be produced worldwide. The guitars feature a ‘Sixties Cherry’ finish and have undergone the Murphy Lab aging process to replicate the appearance of the original instrument. Key specifications include two pickguards, a Bigsby B7 vibrato, Grover tuners, and Custombucker pickups.

The limited release is available exclusively through the Gibson Garage Miami in the Wynwood district, starting Friday, September 18, 2026. The model is based on an ES-335 Cerati purchased in the mid-1990s in New York, which featured unique modifications such as a leather back protector and a second pickguard.
