Giffoni Macedonia Youth Film Festival opens in Skopje

The 14th edition of the Giffoni Macedonia Youth Film Festival has commenced in Skopje, North Macedonia, running through September 29. The event brings together over 400 young participants from eight different countries to engage with cinema as a tool for personal growth and international connection.

The festival features a program of more than 60 films, including a significant selection of Italian cinema. Beyond screenings, the event includes eight creative workshops focusing on contemporary themes and skills. A new initiative titled ‘Eko Lab’ has been introduced, which uses 3D printing to promote sustainability through creative recycling of plastic materials.

Participants are engaging in various activities, including meetings with directors such as Dina Duma and Hani Basashov. The festival also emphasizes cultural exchange through an international evening and a hospitality program where foreign participants are hosted by local Macedonian families.
