Hardware manufacturers Gigabyte and ASRock are expanding their offerings for the AMD AM5 platform with new X870 chipset motherboards.
Gigabyte has released the X870 AORUS INFINITY as a 40th-anniversary special edition. Designed for extreme overclocking, the E-ATX motherboard features a unique 2-DIMM memory configuration and a 90-degree rotated layout for the CPU, memory, and M.2 slots to facilitate liquid nitrogen (LN2) cooling. The board includes premium features such as an 18+2+2 phase digital power supply, a gold-plated AORUS logo, and specialized thermal management components like the CPU Thermal Matrix.
ASRock has announced the X870 Taichi Creator series, specifically targeting professional content creators. Built on the AMD X870 chipset, these boards support the AM5 socket and are designed for intensive workloads such as 3D design and video editing. A key technical highlight is the comprehensive support for PCIe 5.0, providing high bandwidth for next-generation graphics cards and NVMe storage solutions.
