Gigabyte announces BIOS support for upcoming Intel LGA1700 CPUs
Gigabyte has announced BIOS updates for its B760 and H610 motherboards to support upcoming Intel processors expected to launch in early 2027. These updates will cover both DDR4 and DDR5 memory versions, allowing users to upgrade their CPUs without replacing their existing motherboards.
The new processors are expected to utilize the LGA1700 socket and the Raptor Lake Next architecture, continuing to use the mature Intel 7 process. While Intel has not officially confirmed specific models or pricing, reports suggest a lineup including Core 3, Core 5, and Core 7 configurations.
Notably, the announcement specifically targets B760 and H610 chipsets; high-end Z690 and Z790 boards were not mentioned in the update list. This move provides a cost-effective upgrade path for users currently utilizing the LGA1700 platform, particularly those using DDR4 memory.
