Gigabyte unveils WRX90 AI TOP motherboard for AI workloads
Gigabyte has introduced the WRX90 AI TOP motherboard, designed specifically for high-load local AI computing and memory-intensive professional applications. Built on the AMD WRX90 chipset with the sTR5 socket, the board is compatible with AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000WX and 9000WX processors.
The motherboard features eight DDR5 RDIMM slots supporting up to 2TB of ECC memory in an eight-channel configuration. To manage the heat generated by dense memory layouts, Gigabyte has integrated active cooling with dual fans directed at the DIMM slots, which the company claims can reduce memory temperatures by up to 43°C.
For expansion, the board provides seven full-length PCIe 5.0 slots directly connected to the CPU, with six slots supporting x16 bandwidth and one supporting x8. While the hardware includes seven physical slots, configurations can support up to nine GPUs through additional connections. Storage options include two PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots, one PCIe 4.0 M.2 slot, and four SATA ports, though certain MCIO interfaces share bandwidth with the PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots.
Other technical specifications include dual Intel X710 10GbE network controllers, two USB4 Type-C ports, and ASPEED AST2600 remote management support via IPMI. The E-ATX motherboard measures 305x330mm.
