Gigamon and Zscaler partner to enhance zero trust observability
Gigamon has announced a new integration with Zscaler, Inc. to enhance observability within zero trust and hybrid cloud environments. The solution combines Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) with Gigamon Application Metadata Intelligence (AMI) to provide deeper visibility into application activity.
As organizations transition from traditional VPNs to Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), security teams face challenges in maintaining visibility across complex hybrid cloud infrastructures. The joint solution aims to address this by pairing ZPA’s identity-centric access controls with Gigamon’s high-precision application metadata and network-derived telemetry. This integration allows security and operations teams to accelerate investigations, verify policies, and improve threat detection by linking user identity and location with the specific methods and content of their activities.
Gigamon’s AMI extracts approximately 6,000 metadata attributes from network traffic, including DNS queries, SSL certificate details, and latency telemetry. By capturing east-west traffic transferred from the Zscaler App Connector to private applications, the integration helps reduce blind spots in downstream monitoring and analysis tools.
