LIDOM teams prepare for 2026-27 season preparations

Dominican Winter League (LIDOM) teams are finalizing preparations for the 2026-27 season, which is scheduled to begin on October 16.

Gigantes del Cibao will begin training on September 25 at Estadio Julián Javier. The initial roster includes reserve players and upcoming LIDOM rookies. General Manager Jaylon Pimentel confirmed the return of American first baseman Jake Holton, who posted a .419 average during his previous stint with the team. To prepare for the upcoming draft, the organization has released several pitchers, including Fernando Abad and Benony Robles.

Leones del Escogido has announced its Baseball Operations department for the upcoming season. Carlos Peña will continue as General Manager, supported by Ángel Santana and Joel Lithgow. The staff includes several professionals from MLB organizations, such as Eduardo Pérez from the Seattle Mariners and José Almonte from the Miami Marlins. The department is currently focused on planning for the 2026 Rookie Draft.
