Gigi Dall’Igna predicts consistency will decide 2026 MotoGP title
Ducati General Manager Gigi Dall’Igna has stated that the 2026 MotoGP world championship will be decided by mental composure and consistency rather than pure race wins. Following the Aragon Grand Prix, the title race has tightened among three primary contenders: Jorge Martin, Marc Marquez, and Marco Bezzecchi.
Jorge Martin currently leads the standings, holding a 19-point advantage over Marc Marquez. Marco Bezzecchi remains in contention, trailing the leader by 24 points. While Marquez and Bezzecchi have each secured four race wins this season, Martin has only one victory, though his ability to consistently score points has kept him at the top of the classification.
Dall’Igna emphasized that avoiding 'zeroes' and minimizing mistakes is more critical than winning a high number of individual races, citing historical precedents where consistent point-scoring overcame higher win counts.
