Gil Raposo resigns from Azeitão Parish Council

Gil Raposo, a member of the Socialist Party (PS), has announced his resignation from his positions within the Azeitão Parish Council Executive and his mandate in the Parish Assembly.

Raposo cited a “loss of political confidence” from the party's municipal leadership and stated that there were “distinct visions regarding local management” and ways of operating. He clarified that his decision was not driven by the challenges of his duties, noting that his daily contact with the population was a primary source of motivation.

His departure comes less than a year after the October 2025 local elections, where the PS won the Azeitão Parish Council. Raposo, 43, had been responsible for urban hygiene and cleaning services. Despite leaving his political roles, he expressed his intention to continue defending the interests of the parish.
