Gilad Ardan's New Party Calls for Broad Unity Government and Haredi Conscription, Linked to Gadi Eizenkot Allies
A new Israeli political party led by former IDF chief Gilad Ardan is set to launch with a platform that calls for a broad unity government, the conscription of Haredi men into the Israel Defense Forces, and clear conditions for joining the next coalition. The party says it will back a government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu and Gadi Eizenkot, arguing that security and diplomatic challenges require a wide‑based cabinet rather than a bloc‑only administration. It also states it will not support a government formed solely by a single political bloc and is prepared to trigger new elections if a unity government cannot be formed.
Separately, a report revealed that close associates of Gadi Eizenkot were involved behind the scenes in establishing a new Haredi‑focused party called “the Haredi public.” Individuals named Ronen Manlis, Ronen Abiani and candidate Inbar Giti were cited as participants in the party’s early planning. The new Haredi party is expected to struggle to pass the electoral threshold and could split the Haredi vote, potentially affecting the balance of right‑wing parties in the Knesset.
