Gilan police report 10 percent decrease in theft

Police officials in Gilan province have reported a 10 percent decrease in theft and an increase in crime detection rates to approximately 96 percent. General Hossein Hassanpour, the provincial police commander, highlighted these improvements alongside a 45 percent reduction in road fatalities.

In addition to crime reduction, authorities are focusing on tourism security during the summer season and managing traffic violations. Approximately 500 individuals have faced legal action for traffic offenses, including operating motorcycles without proper documentation. The police also emphasized ongoing efforts to combat smuggling and illegal weapons possession.
