Gilas Pilipinas teams secure international basketball victories

The Gilas Pilipinas national basketball programs achieved notable successes in international competitions. In the FIBA U18 Asia Cup, the Gilas Boys defeated Syria 72-63 in the playoffs held in Ahmedabad, India. Led by Aidan Dayco-Green’s 16 points, the Philippines secured a spot in the quarterfinals, where they are scheduled to face China.

In the FIBA 3x3 Nations League Asia SEA Conference in Malaysia, both the Gilas Women and Gilas Men secured victories in their respective divisions. The Gilas Women defeated Chinese Taipei 17-14 to extend their lead in the standings. The Gilas Men overcame New Zealand with a 21-19 victory, narrowing the gap in the overall standings heading into the next stage of the tournament.
