Gilbert Burns eyes RAF Wrestling match against Colby Covington

Former UFC welterweight title contender Gilbert Burns has expressed interest in competing in RAF Wrestling, a freestyle promotion that features various current and former UFC fighters. Following his retirement from MMA, Burns indicated he is open to settling his long-standing rivalry with Colby Covington on the wrestling mats.

Burns noted that while his recent MMA fights did not fully showcase his wrestling abilities, he remains sharp and continues to train. Covington currently holds a 4-0 record in the RAF promotion and is scheduled to face Belal Muhammad on September 19. Burns also mentioned other potential opponents within the promotion, including Khamzat Chimaev, who is set to compete against Tyron Woodley on September 5.

Currently, Burns is managing fighters and operating his own gym in Florida.
