Gilberto Loya Chávez to remain Security Secretary until 2027

Gilberto Loya Chávez, the State Public Security Secretary, has confirmed he will remain in his current position until the end of the current administration in 2027. Following discussions with Governor Maru Campos, Loya announced that he will not participate in the 2027 electoral contest, effectively withdrawing his previous aspirations to run for governor under the National Action Party (PAN).

Loya emphasized that his priority is fulfilling his responsibility to lead state security efforts through the conclusion of the administration. He did not comment on rumors regarding a potential proposal for him to lead the autonomous Prosecutor's Office.
