Gilberto Mora attracts major interest from Liverpool and European clubs
European football giants are competing for the signature of 17-year-old Mexican midfielder Gilberto Mora, currently playing for Club Tijuana. Reports indicate that Liverpool is preparing a significant offer, potentially reaching £40 million (approximately €46 million), to secure the attacking talent.
Club Tijuana has reportedly set an initial valuation of around £30 million, though competition could drive the price higher. Other major clubs monitoring Mora include Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Ajax, Borussia Dortmund, and Benfica. The player's representative, Rafaela Pimenta, has been in contact with several of these organizations.
Mora has seen a rapid rise in profile following his performances for Tijuana and his historic achievement as the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Mexican national team. Due to FIFA regulations regarding the international transfer of minors, a move to Europe cannot be finalized until he turns 18 on October 14. While a transfer in the January window is possible, Tijuana may prefer to negotiate a deal for the summer to maximize his market value.
