Gilberto Mora attracts interest from PSG and Liverpool

Mexican football prospect Gilberto Mora, an 18-year-old midfielder for Club Tijuana (Xolos), is drawing significant interest from major European clubs. Following his standout performance in the World Cup and becoming the youngest scorer in Mexican national team history, reports indicate that Paris Saint-Germain is considering him as a potential reinforcement for the January 2027 transfer window to address offensive depth following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s injury.

Other elite clubs linked to the player include Liverpool, Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Borussia Dortmund. While unconfirmed, some reports suggest Liverpool may have prepared an offer near $40 million. To protect his value, Club Tijuana recently extended Mora’s contract through 2029, increasing his release clause from $30 million to $75 million.

Mora has recently returned to training with Xolos after recovering from hip, ankle, and groin injuries. Additionally, the young player has received high praise from football legends, including Hugo Sánchez and Lionel Messi, the latter of whom recently gifted him a pair of football boots.
