Gilberto Mora says no firm European offers yet as he stays focused on Xolos
Seventeen‑year‑old Mexican midfielder Gilberto Mora, who starred for the Xolos de Tijuana at the 2026 World Cup, says he has not received any concrete proposals from European clubs. “Hasta ahorita no me ha llegado nada,” he told reporters, adding that he will continue to concentrate on his club and let “the times of God be perfect.” His coach, former Uruguayan international Sebastián Abreu, echoed the sentiment, noting that Mora’s market value rose after the tournament but his focus remains unchanged.
After scoring the winning goal against León on 24 July, Mora met Grupo Firme vocalist Eduin Caz, who posted a photo with the player. Caz praised Mora’s maturity, writing, “MUCHÍSIMAS GRACIAS @gil_morita MUY CENTRADO ERES OTRO NIVEL.” The encounter highlighted the youngster’s growing profile both on the pitch and in Mexican popular culture.
