Gillian Anderson stars in Jane Schoenbrun’s horror film

The meta-horror film ‘Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma’, directed by Jane Schoenbrun, is released in French theaters for a limited one-day engagement before moving to streaming platforms. The film stars Gillian Anderson as Billy, a reclusive actress from a former slasher franchise, and Hannah Einbinder as a queer director tasked with reviving the cult series.

Having previously won the Queer Palm at festivals, the film is noted for its political subversion of horror tropes. Directed by a non-binary filmmaker, the story addresses the historical association in horror cinema between gender transgression and monstrosity.
