Gilmar Mendes seeks identification of judges in Banco Master case
Supreme Court Justice Gilmar Mendes has formally requested the suspension of proceedings related to the 'Master Case' until all magistrates mentioned in investigations involving Banco Master and former banker Daniel Vorcaro are identified. The request was made via a question of order during the trial concerning an investigation into Justice Alexandre de Moraes.
Mendes argued that the identification of these judges—including those from the STF, STJ, and TST—is essential to determine which members of the judiciary are impeded or suspected from participating in related votes. He stated that 'partial investigation is biased investigation' and warned that proceeding without knowing the status of all mentioned officials would compromise the integrity of the court's decisions.
The investigation stems from Federal Police reports containing messages extracted from Vorcaro's mobile phone. Mendes also proposed several procedural measures, including joining PET 16.662/DF with PET 16.704/DF, conducting a new draw to define a rapporteur, and allowing the Prosecutor General's Office and the mentioned magistrates to provide statements before resuming the trial.
