Gilowice to host educational meeting on wolf safety

An educational meeting titled ‘Z wilkiem po sąsiedzku’ (Living with the wolf as a neighbor) will be held on October 16, 2026, at the Municipal Cultural Center in Gilowice. Organized by the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Katowice, the event aims to address concerns regarding the presence of wolves in the Beskids region and their impact on human and livestock safety.

Experts, including Michał Figura and Dorota Twardzik, will discuss wolf biology, natural behavior, and methods to minimize human-wildlife conflict. The session will provide practical safety guidelines on how to react during encounters and will include an open discussion for residents to ask questions and seek individual consultations.
