Macau sexual harassment investigation concludes with indictment
The Civil Police of Rio Grande do Norte has concluded an investigation into a sexual harassment case involving a supermarket employee in Macau. The incident occurred on August 13, 2026, and was part of the ‘Operação Mulher Segura’ initiative.
A 51-year-old man is accused of committing sexual harassment acts while under the influence of alcohol. According to investigators, the suspect touched his genitals against the chair used by the female employee during service and requested her phone number. He also reportedly made derogatory comments regarding the victim's intellectual capacity to another staff member.
Security footage and eyewitness accounts from customers provided evidence for the case. The victim, who was in the early stages of her employment, suffered psychological distress and is receiving local health support. Following the incident, the judiciary granted urgent protective measures, prohibiting the suspect from contacting the victim, including at her workplace. The man has been indicted for sexual harassment and driving under the influence.
