Gimnazija Obala begins major reconstruction in Sarajevo

The Ministry of Education, Youth, Science, Culture and Sport of Sarajevo Canton has launched a major reconstruction project for Gimnazija Obala, a historic school building protected as part of Sarajevo's historical urban landscape. The first phase of the renovation focuses on the roof and lightning protection systems, with an allocated budget of 330,000 KM including VAT.

The Ministry has secured a total of 800,000 KM for the reconstruction. Subsequent phases will involve replacing external joinery and renovating the facade in cooperation with the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction, and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton.

This project is part of a long-term investment strategy by the Ministry, which has directed nearly 1.1 million KM toward the school to date. Previous improvements include the renovation of the sports hall, upgrading classrooms and professional service rooms, installing hot water, enhancing security systems, and providing digital equipment and internet coverage throughout the facility.
