Gimnàstic de Tarragona begins pre‑season under new coach Xisco Campos

Former player Xisco Campos took charge of Gimnàstic de Tarragona on Wednesday, leading the first pre‑season training session at the annex field of the Nou Estadi Costa Daurada. The morning drill involved 29 squad members and marked the start of the club's preparation for the upcoming season.

The session featured the majority of the club's recent acquisitions: 14 of the 16 summer signings were on the pitch, alongside three youth goalkeepers and several midfielders and forwards promoted from the academy. Four players – David Alba, Mángel Prendes, Cedric Omoigui and Sergio Santos – were granted short‑term leave to resolve their futures.

Separately, youth product Oriol Subirats signed his first‑team contract, recalling his debut in May 2022. He expressed eagerness to learn, work hard and earn a regular place in the starting eleven.
